11th Annual Garden Tour

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Featuring eight private and uniquely different
gardens in Federal Way and Northeast Tacoma

Guest speaker: Horticulturist Richie Steffen, curator of The Elisabeth Carey Miller Botanical Garden, will speak about "Great Plant Picks for the Northwest" at 11 a.m. at the Lakehaven Utility District Water Conservation Garden, located next to French Lake Park in Federal Way.

Other highlights: Artisans, unusual plants, WSU Master Gardeners, and musicans in the gardens.

Tickets: $15 on or before June 30. After this date $20.

Mark your calendars for our club's annual garden tour. May 29, we go to Old Goat Farm. We are meeting at Maxine's house at 9:00 a.m. to carpool to the garden. After the tour, we will likely go out to lunch.

Tacoma Fuchsia Society plant sale

The Tahoma Fuchsia Society with have their plant sale on April 17 from 9 am to 2 pm at the Disabled American Veterans Hall, 1110 North Stevens in Tacoma.

Rhododendron Species Foundation Plant Sale

Sale will be Saturday March 27^th 10:00-3:00 and Sunday March 28^th 10:00-2:00 in the Weyerhaeuser Corporate Headquarters west parking lot.

HART at Seymour Conservatory

Spring Plant Sale

The order forms are ready for pick up at the MHGC meeting 2/16. If you won't be at the meeting, call Judy McDonald (253-839-4413) before then to arrange to get a form, as she will be going out of town.

Bedding plants are from Starlake nursery and excellent quality. They must be pre-ordered by March 20.

Plant sale is Friday, April 23. Try to come help sort out the plants at Arlyce Pearson's house. The "public sale" of donated plants and leftovers is Saturday, April 24.

Old Goat Farm open October 3 & 4

Final open weekend at Old Goat Farm is Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4. Open both days from 10 am until 5 pm. All plants will be on sale from 25% to 50% off. Website with directions: www.oldgoatfarm.com

HARDY FERN FOUNDATION STUMPERY OPENING

A huge new public stumpery debuts on September 20, 1-4 p.m. (with the dedication at 2), at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden, 2525 S. 336th Street in Federal Way, on the Weyerhaeuser campus. Light refreshments will be served, and fern experts will be on hand to answer your questions about this magical mystery half-acre of tree stumps, ferns and woodland plants nestled into a mature conifer forest..
