Club service projects

If you are scheduled to bring flowers to the Federal Way Life Care Center, you can still deliver them to the entrance. Check your yearbook to see when you are scheduled.

We welcome members' help maintaining the area around the blue star marker at Celebration Park. Just stop by when you have a little time with a spade or hoe and clean it up as you are able! We have some geraniums to plant there.  We also have wax begonias to plant at the Federal Way Historical Society. Contact Judy if you can help with the planting, as she has done so much for us this spring. Relieving her of some tasks would be very welcome!

Hanging baskets for Brookdale Foundation House

Judy and Radhika are leading the effort for planting the 20 hanging baskets/pots for Brookdale Foundation House in early May. If you would like to help with this no-contact service project, please contact Judy or Radhika. We will not be involving any residents this year. All the potting will be done off-site (probably at Judy's house) and delivered.

Spring 2020 Plant Sale

Our 2020 plant sale was a scaled-down event, focused on fulfilling the pre-orders. Plants were delivered Thursday, April 23. Members pulled orders on Thursday afternoon and Friday. Customers picked them up as they were ready. They were able to browse through a selection of perennials and shrubs propagated or donated by members and friends of the club, which supplemented our pre-sales.

Members signed up for times to help so we didn't have too many at any one time. All were diligent in wearing masks and gloves and maintaining appropriate social distance.

Thanks to all who helped.
