Chinook District Basic Design Classes

The Chinook District will offer Basic Design (three classes). The October classes have been postponed to a date in the Spring. The dates and location will be announced at an upcoming Chinook General Meeting and in the Chinook Winds. Cost will probably be $30 for the three classes.

2014 Awards

At the June 18 Chinook District Awards Banquet, Marine Hills received several awards.
Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs Awards:
  • Garden Therapy - Passive Therapy (clubs of 24 or fewer members) - 1st place
  • Smoke signals 100% participation award
  • Berta Deming Blue Ribbon Award to Debbie Angel for most blue ribbons earned in Standard Flower Shows in one year
  • Butterfly Conservation 1st place individual to Debbie Angel
  • Horticulture Essay 1st place to Debbie Angel
  • Washington Consultants Council Landscape Design 1st place to Debbie Angel
Chinook District Awards:
  • Shirley Lins Award for Novice Design 1st place and 2nd place to Debbie Angel
  • Dianne Green Award for Horticulture Exhibit 2nd place to Donna Mansfield

Chinook District Awards Luncheon June 18

The annual Chinook District Awards Luncheon is at 11 a.m. on June 18 at Grace Lutheran Church. Please let Debbie Angel know if you plan on attending. This event is free.

May 16 tour of Highline Seatac Botanical Garden

Our annual garden tour (guided) will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden http://www.highlinegarden.org/. See you there!

May 20 meeting - plant exchange

Bring plants that you would like to give to other club members, and select some new plants for your garden, at our annual plant exchange! This will be our final official meeting until September, but we will have at least one summer potluck.

Plant Sale April 25 & 26

Plant Sale pre-sale day is Friday, April 25. Club members and volunteers will be sorting pre-sale orders beginning at 9 am. Pick-up of orders at 3 pm, or when contacted that your order is ready.

Public Plant Sale Saturday, April 26, 10 am - 3 pm.
 
A great assortment of annuals, perennials and native plants for sale.  Come early for best selections.
